Nonnas Camere

A five-language website and custom CMS for a family-run guesthouse on the Ligurian Riviera, built around the person who runs it. The owner updates rooms, photos, events, translations and seasonal themes without touching code; Italian is the master language for the other four. Booking.com and WhatsApp are built in. No visitor tracking, no ad stack.

The brief

A small family-run guesthouse on the Ligurian Riviera with rooms, an apartment and a Booking.com listing, and an owner who wanted a website of her own: one that speaks her guests' languages and that she can keep up to date herself, without calling anyone.

Built around the person who runs it

The admin came first. Rossana updates rooms, photos, events, recommendations and the season's look from one plain screen, in Italian. Italian is the master language; English, French, Russian and Ukrainian hang off it, so a change made once stays consistent across all five. Nothing in the admin requires knowing how the website works behind the scenes. Translations are handled via an api so that they all are updated at the same time.

What guests see

A quiet editorial site: the rooms and the apartment, a page of Rossana's own recommendations, upcoming events, practical things worth knowing, and how to get there. Booking.com and WhatsApp are built in, so booking and questions go where they already went, only with less friction. Everything is laid out for a phone first, because that is where guests plan.

Seasonal themes

The site changes character with the season. A theme swaps the palette and the small decorative details without touching the content or the structure, so the summer site and the autumn site are the same site in a different light. Rossana switches it herself.

Privacy by default

There is no visitor tracking, no advertising stack and no unnecessary collection of personal data. The result is fast and light, and it gives a small independent business its own identity instead of a page inside someone else's platform.
